Royal Canadian Mint Releases 2 Oz Gold-Plated Silver Coin: Predator and Prey: Snowy Owl, Greater White-fronted Geese

The Royal Canadian Mint has released a new 2 oz gold-plated fine silver proof coin featuring a snowy owl preying on two Greater White-fronted Geese. This coin is the third and last addition to the popular Predator and Prey series from the mint.
The reverse of the coin depicts a snowy owl hunting for a pair of greater white-fronted geese. The scene is set against the backdrop of snowy peaks in Canada’s Arctic region.
Like previous releases of this series, this coin is designed by Canadian wildlife artist W. Allan Hancock. The reverse includes the inscription “Canada, and year of issue, 2019.
The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the monetary denomination of the coin, 30 dollars. Golden reflections in the coin refer to full gold plating (as designated by the [P] mark under the Queen’s effigy on the obverse and the design’s use of reflections on the water.
Conventional minting technology was used to reproduce a captivating work of art.
This coin is crafted from 2 troy of 9999 pure silver and finished at the highest international proof standards. It has a limited mintage of only 2,500 pieces worldwide.
This coin arrives in a clamshell with a beautiful black beauty box. The packaging highlights the elegance of the engraved art and makes for a sophisticated presentation.
