King Leonidas I. was the ruler of the Greek City-State of Sparta from 488 B.C to 480 B.C. Known for his high military intelligence, he led the Greek troops in the second Greco – Persian war.
He is mostly famous for his heroic sacrifice at the Battle of Thermopylae, where he repelled a big Persian force with only 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians alongside him.
