‘The Knight in the Panther’s Skin’, a national epic poem by 12th century Kartvelian poet and philosopher Shota Rustaveli, is considered to be one of the most significant works in the history of medieval literature. Inspired by this literary masterpiece, experts at the Lithuanian Mint created an impressive series of coins and named it in honour of the poem. We present the second coin in ‘The Knight in the Panther’s Skin’ series, depicting an impressive scene – Tariel fighting the wild beasts.
