All European kings were dreaming of the crafted works from the famous Fabergé atelier. “The Imperial Pelican” was an Easter gift from the Tsar Nicholas II of Russia to his mother Maria Feodorovna. It has been made of engraved red gold surmounted by a pelican feeding its offspring in the nest – a symbol of parental love and care. When unfolded, the egg reveals eight oval miniature paintings.
