The Constellation Egg was the last masterpiece designed for Nicholas II by the House of Fabergé. This Easter gift for Alexandra Feodorovna was intended to mark the birth of Tsarevich Alexei. The jewel was made of engraved cobalt glass featuring the constellation of Leo – the Zodiac sign of the heir to the Russian throne. Its diamond-studded surface was designed to shimmer like a starry night. Regretfully, the gift hasn’t been accomplished due to the Russian Revolution of 1917.
