Tapping into the growing popularity of Asian-style design themes, the Australian Perth Mint has struck this beautifully designed one ounce highly pure 99.99 silver coin, featuring two dragons chasing a flaming pearl.
The mythical Chinese dragons have several animal-like shapes such as turtles, and Fish, with the most common depiction of the mythical creatures resembling a snake with four legs.
Dragons are revered in the Chinese Culture and are considered to be a symbol of power, strength and good luck. They traditionally symbolize auspicious powers and control over water, rainfall or floods.
The reverse of the new coin depicts exquisitely detailed representations of two serpentine dragons chasing a flaming pearl, surrounded by stylized scrolling clouds. It shows the Perth Mint's mintmark "P".
The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, along with the year of issue, 2019, the monetary denomination, 1 dollar, and metal quality and weight. This coin has a limited mintage of only 50000 coins.
