Dragons are revered in the Chinese Culture and are considered to be a symbol of power, strength and good luck. They traditionally symbolize auspicious powers and control over water, rainfall or floods.
The reverse of the new coin depicts exquisitely detailed representations of two serpentine dragons chasing a flaming pearl, surrounded by stylized scrolling clouds. It shows the Perth Mint’s mintmark “P”.
The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, along with the year of issue, 2019, the monetary denomination, 1 dollar, and metal quality and weight.
Important Note: The colorization/plating on this piece was performed by an experienced third party company not by the mint of origin.
