This issue of the familiar and beloved Maple Leaf coin design features an inukshuk, or stone landmark built by humans, which was the emblem of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The obverse depicts a right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year and face value. The reverse depicts the iconic stone inukshuk landmark is shown. This had significant historical attachment to the 2010 Olympics. Sovereign coin backed by the Canadian government.
