The obverse features a profile view of Lady Liberty, a figure renowned for her appearances on many denominations of American coinage. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
The reverse of this copper round features the fasces, a combination of wooden rods and protruding axe blade used in ancient Rome. Magistrates would carry these bundles with them in order to demonstrate and symbolize their power and jurisdiction. The fasces is shown wrapped in an olive branch, the universal symbol for peace.
Coin may have small spots and/or scratches, but usually brilliant uncirculated condition. .
