Thanks to a collective effort, in August 1945 the United States, Australia, and Britain were able to declare victory over the Imperial Japanese Forces in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Various commemorative coins have been struck to mark the important milestones of World War II, including these Victory in the Pacific and War in the Pacific coins.
